Riding to Davidson area from Charlotte?

Does anyone commute north toward Davidson from center-city Charlotte? Also, any suggestions for routes between Charlotte and Davidson?

HI Lauren - I do a lot of riding from my house (close to Highland Ck) to Davidson. I'm also going to start commuting from home to downtown CLT (once it warms up a little). I'd be happy to give you my route.

Charlotte to Davidson

Lauren,

What side of uptown are you leaving from?

If from the west, I found Beatties Ford to Sunset to Reames (past new mall -- bike lanes) to Mt. Holly-Huntersville to 115 to be the quickest and most pleasant.

If you are going from the east side of town, my experience leaving uptown is limited to weekend riding, but I have found 21 to have reasonably wide lanes. 115 (old Statesville) is less direct, but may have less traffic than 21 -- I have found 21 to have lots of traffic in both directions in the peak hours, esp. around Huntersville. Manageable, but not always pleasant.
