Critical Mass

General Topics

Someone suggested I start a discussion about critical mass at this site. I've only participated in one ride ever thus far, but have been reading about it for some time. While this is a complicated issue, for now I'll submit the following links for discussion. It has to do with a February 2006 ruling by a judge in NYC denying an injunction whereby the City would prevent Critical Mass from ever taking place:

Critical mass

Rode one in Boone less than a year ago. We had a few cars get pulled for passing a pack of cyclist on a double yellow line. I'd say Charlotte is in need of a mass ride, but not uptown that would be meaningless. It would have to be on a main stretch of road where conjestion gets heavy like 51, or part of providence.

Critical Mass

No chance in Charlotte as the Bicycle community are lead by Pacifist weenies.

Critical Mass

I've ridden in Critical Masses in SF. A lot different environment obviously, but also a lot of fun.
