P.S. Will I see YOU at the zoning board meeting on 2/23/05??

I can only speak for myself,

I can only speak for myself, but I am committed to helping cyclists in Charlotte in ANY way possible. I will be at the meeting, and plan on dropping off fliers at local bikes shops next week as well. :)

Blue, nice site with great goals, notwithstanding the ambiguous name! I hope the Co-Op gets off to a great start, and hope to give it a hand.

Your group's emphasis on providing practical support for cycling among those of limited means is important to all of us. You state the group is for mutual support, not government or political action, but it would help mightily with the parking ordinance effort if some low-income riders would tell the Zoning Committee and the City Council of their need for good bicycle accommodation — on the road, on transit, and in the form of secure parking when they get to their job, shopping, or recreation site. So far both groups have only heard from middle-aged, middle-income, white males. Any chance you could mobilize some more cultural diversity to contact those on the Zoning Committee and City Council before their next meetings?

As you so clearly recognize, those of limited means need good alternatives to motor vehicles as much or more than the folks the City has already heard from!
