WHAT: Cycling for a clean energy future in the Southeast by meeting with senators & representatives, holding media events, & hosting community presentations WHO: 25 southeast, clean energy activists, bicycles, biodiesel bus, & lots of spare tires! WHERE: staring at Bonnaroo music festival and then off to stratgetic cities in TN & NC, ending on the Outer Banks, a beautiful area that could be devastated by consequences of global warming. WHEN: June 6 to July 30 WHY: raising awareness, building a stronger student network in the southeast, connecting with community groups, and inspiring & energizing communities to work together towards a clean energy future. The realities of our current energy policy—entrenchment in the old ways of dirty energies—call for swift action in support of clean energy. Join with us in energizing and activating Southerns around energy issues! **We're focusing on NC & TN b/c they are strategic senate targets, but clean energy is a regional/even national issue and we want students from all around the South to be a part of the tour!! Following the success of this year's tour, next summer we will have a bike tour all over the South!** For more on the Bike Tour see: http://www.climateaction.net/content/bike Even if you can't make the ride there are other opportunities to help liz@climateaction.net or call Liz @ 919-619-5964 |
